「最初は自分で描いた絵を地面に並べてお客さんを待つ、よくあるカタチだったんですよ。これを1年くらい続けていました」
--- 反応はありましたか？
「ないですよ（笑）。ほとんどの人は素通り。100人通り過ぎたら１人か２人止まってくれたらいいほう。効率の悪さや、絵を見てもらえない理由をずっと考えてました。」
--- そこから抜け出したきっかけは？
「僕の絵をたまたま気に入ってくれた若い人たちがいて、その人たちはクラブでイベントをやっていたんです。その人たちと毎週遊んでいるうちに、彼らのイベントで絵を描くことになりました」
--- おぉ、だいぶ近づいてきましたね！
「壁に模造紙を貼って、イベントのあいだ中、絵を描いていたんですけど、僕も音楽が好きだし、黙々と描くだけじゃつまらなくて、音楽に合わせて足踏みして、それが段々とオーバーアクションになってきたんです」
--- 今みたいに激しく踊ってたんですか？
「その頃は今ほどじゃないですね（笑）。普通に描くよりはお客さんのウケもよくって、自分でも面白いなって思うようになった。この頃はクラブでもやってたし、相変わらず路上でも前と同じようにやってた」
--- 路上では相変わらず絵を並べてお客さんを待っていた？
「そうです。でもずっとどうにかしなきゃって思ってた。それで、クラブでやってるスタイルを路上でやったらどうだろうと思って、リズムボックスで音楽をかけながら描くっていうスタイルにしたんです」
--- 最初にリズムペインティングを披露したときの反応はどうでした？
「足を止めてくれる人は格段に増えましたね。それまでもお客さんが全然いないってことはなかった。そうなったら路上に出るのを止めようと思ってたんです。地べたに絵を並べてるときであっても、先週よりも今週のほうが成績が悪かったらもうやってなかった。常に良くなってきているから続けてこれたと思いますね」

今はあまり聴いていないのですが、
globeのデビュー曲「Feel like dance」。
初めて聴いた時に、音と歌に圧倒され、気分が変わりました。
力が湧いてきて、何事も頑張っていこう。と思わせてくれた曲です。
好きな音楽はいろいろあるのですが、「変えた」

そしていつか捨ててきた夢の続きを

まだ描き続けたい未来がある
この曲を聴いていると、心の奥底からふつふつとエネルギーがみなぎってくるような感じがします。言葉一つで、考え方や想いはガラッと変えられるということを気づかせてくれた大切な曲です。

自分の場合は、もう15年くらい前ですかね・・・
DEEE-LITEの 「Groove Is In The Herat」のPVを見た時にドーンときました。
これをきっかけにダンスミュージックの世界にハマっていきましたね。
今聴いてもすごく今っぽいというか、当事１０年先を行ってたような衝撃を受けました。
